Targa anyone?

Hi Mark

The original manufacturer of glass-fibre hard tops for the Stag was a
company called Lenham Hardtops, who made hardtops for many sports cars plus
associated glass-fibre items. I believe they went out of business many
years ago - at least I can find out nothing about them these days.

There were two offerings, something that looked rather like the 'proper'
steel item, and a 'Surrey' version which was rather cumbersome. One of
these 'Surrey' tops is still in use with one of our Triumph Stag Register
club members, the front part got damaged or mislaid and so now has a cloth
front portion in 2 pieces, left and right.

Rimmers bought the Lenham moulds some years ago and were able to supply the
full length top, but I believe they decided against making the Surrey Top
except on demand. Whether or not they still have the ability to supply the
Surrey tops I do not know.

When in California last year, Kevin Harrop showed me the Surrey top he was
making up for his Stag. Kevin, I will let you have those pics in the next
few days.
