    Thanks for the detailed responses.  I knew that you could add some
conversion experiences especially the chop job installation. Actually,
the 327 Corvette engined Stag I listed as an example, not running,  is
one here locally in Colorado, was owned by a Dentist who put all the
bucks into it, then drove it right into the ground. It needs some body
panels as the tin work has attacked in several spots, was originally
Saphire Blue, sprayed Fire Engine Red, now pealing off.
    I've got a solution to your Triumph restoration problem....give me
your TR250...one less Triumph to restore!  I'd be Glad to help!!!

    I think the steering column was originally installed from the engine
compartment before the engine was installed.
