Re: Alternate Stag Engines

Since I am started on this subject, a pet peave that people think they
can save money by converting a Stag, here are two other examples of
conversions.... (Hugh, how about your input, you have several converted
USA Stags..with Chevy 350's?.)

Example #6

Engine: Rover 3.5
Holly 4bbl
conversion kit from Rimmers

Professional installation, total $3800

Car is for sale, running condition, $6500.00

Example #7

Engine: Rover 3.5 from SD-1 w/ 5 speed
uprated programmable fuel injection system plus spare stock 3.5 system
tubular headers and conversion kit from Rimmers
shortened drive shaft

Total investment to date in parts/labor towards conversion, over $3600

Engine is not yet assembled, car needs suspension exhaust and brake
work, good paint, top and interior with black vinyl top

Car is for sale for $6500.00

I am sure there are many happy Stag owners with conversions, many happy
owners with original engines. Point is, do not convert because you
think you are saving money. If you want a car that is maintenance free,
buy a Lexus.
