Since Howard hasn't weighed in...

The diesel that's been reported for Light Line installs in the '60's was the
IH built D-301. While not a 'cataloged' option, apparently there was at
least one batch of pickups(prolly a fleet order) built with them. The D-301
was a listed option for the Loadstar, along with the Perkins 354. Neither
had much grunt in a medium duty application from what I've heard. The 354
was physically too large for a practical light truck install, so the engine
Howard's referring to was likely a 3 or 4 cylinder unit.
