If possible I would like to access the fuel level sending unit in my
traveler without
dropping the tank. I already have planned on repairing the rust in the
floor this summer and thought I could just create and access panel. I am
worried about drilling/cutting into the tank initially and wondered if
anyone had done this with the tank in place? 

Also: John L, I know you replaced your sending unit with an autometer
part, can you e mail me a part # when you get back and get this? I think
my float has a hole in it and has sunk to the bottom of the tank but won't
know till I get it out.
