Ken,

I mounted my MSD 6AL in the engine compartment.  So, if it is making any
noise I can't hear it.  Write to MSD on the web their tech guys will
answer.  I don't imagine the noise is normal.  I believe their website is

The hesitation thing sounds like a carb problem.  I run my Scout at 15 deg
advance with premium gas.  I've tried at 0-8 deg advance.  You would not
believe the difference.
