Re: Humble Pie....(worst stuck)
the below has happened to me a time or two. but because I have been
helped when I needed it, I feel I'm just passing along the favor. when
I'm unable to refuse the money, I just go and give it to a local charity,
since I'm paying back a debt by helping.
case in point: a few years back I was playing on lookout trail (what's
listed on the bulletin as the pony express trail in western ut. I used to
live out there) I got stuck in a ditch, and was afraid I was gonna
haveta hoof it back to dugway, the base being at least 20 miles from
where I was. A lady and her kids came from the other way in an old
pickup and pulled me out. thanks and welcomes were exchanged and we went
on our ways. I came out at vernal and decided instead of heading home to
goto toolee. about a mile or so out of stockton, I found the same lady
with her gas tank dry. so I gove her the gal of oil rich gas I had in my
truck (it was for my chainsaw, that's why it wasn't straight), and she
made it into town. not oftem you get to return "the favor" so fast, but
it did deel good to do so
