Scout IV and new Diesels

Personally I have not heard any rumors of a Scout IV coming from Case, but I
am highly skeptical of this. I know from my dad that there are no immediate
plans for a Scout IV coming out of Navistar. I would be shocked to see one out
of Case because they bought only the Ag division from Harvester, not any part
of the truck division.

On the brighter side my dad passed along some good news from the engine
division. As most of you know a six cylinder is in development for Ford to use
in their below 6500 lb. GVW trucks. This engine is currently in the prototype
stage and should be in production within the next two years. This engine also
apears to be a perfect diesel to swap into a scout. The other even more
interesting news is that a 4 cylinder diesel is now also in development. (This
is the first IH 4 since the 196) I do not think that this is simply going to
be half of a V8 powerstroke, but do not know for sure. These new engines will
be targeted at the passanger car market. This will also give the company a
full range of diesel engines.
