Correction Michael: What I said was that there is a rumor floating around the IH world that IH designed their engines with the valve seals that leak a small amount of oil after shutdown so that on startup, the valve stem was lubricated. This wouldn't be enough, one would hope, to lubricate the cylinder walls! Tom H.
