Air Compressors
Hmm.. I picked up some Campbell Hausfeld "Air Compressor Oil" while at
Walmart the other day.. I didn't think it was actually *FOR* the compressor,
for some reason I thought what I had bought would most likely be for the air
tool oilers (which I don't need right now, but since I was there I grabbed
it anyhow...)
Fortunately, it IS for the compressor itself..
RE: 10w30, this is what I found on the back of the bottle:
"Campbell Hausfeld oil is a non-detergent oil formulated to maximize the
life of compressor pumps and valves. Use of this oil should help reduce oil
consuption, boost performance in all weather conditions and increase the
life of the compressor. NOTE: A multi-viscosity oil such as 10W-30 will
cause carbon to form which increases maintenance costs, reduces overall
performance and shortens compressor life."
Now, it may just be hype (Hey, don't buy cheap-o motor oil, buy OUR
*COMPRESSOR OIL*), or they might be right..
In either case, I already bought the bottle.. ;-)
It doesn't say if 30W non-detergent is good/bad, or even "what" this
"compressor oil" really is...
But, just thought I'd pass that along..
