Pat Newton asks re. how often to trade.
Pat:
Since you're likely a computer owner, create a spreadsheet to do the
calculations. I'm in the midst of replacing my '93 Saab 9000cs and am
looking at buying one of two 2000 9-5's or leasing a 2001. I did a thorough
ss analysis and found the following: The monthly on the lease works out to
US$472.33. On buying the turbo-4 9-5 the monthly net cost, pre fuel, ins.,
maint. for 3 yrs. is $364.89 ($320.48 for 5-years) & on the V6 SE the
monthly is 274.78 ($279.95 for 5. Yes, higher.) Figures come from cost new
less estimated private sale of comparable model '95 or '97 Saab 9000 now.
You can do the same using the info on BMW's in Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book,
etc. Then draw your own conclusions.
