Tell me you're kidding. Of course the car salesman is going to tell you to
get a new car every three years! Next, try going down to the muffler shop
and asking them how often you should get a new muffler. :-)
All kidding aside, you've just bought a vehicle that, with proper care, will
last for years, and years, and years. If it's been well cared for, and you
continue that trend, you should easily get 300K-plus kilometers out of the
car. That's a long time, even if you drive a lot.
I'm a new BMW owner myself, having just purchased an E28 5-series with 133K
miles. I've been corresponding with several other E28 owners, and many have
200-300K miles on their cars, and they're still going strong.
