Club racing safer? BMW vs NASA

Mark, What are your recommendations for being bumped from behind?
I used to race motorcycles and if anyone "bumped" from behind, guess
who losses? :) , but as I found out when I started auto racing it's
just the opposite in cars...

Ya, I've been bumped a couple times, the first wasn't really fun
I was turning in to turn 3 at PIR (Portland,OR) in my first race
out of the novice program, and was in the top 5, (excellent start)
and another guy in a RX7 tapped my rear, all of a sudden I was looking
at all the oncoming traffic coming straight for me! Yikes!. Luckly
nobody hit me, Thanks to the flaggers. Then in the same race on the
last lap in turn 9, onto the front straight, another "upgrader" and
I were door handle to door handle and he bumped my slightly, he was
on the inside, but...I passed him again for the checkered. That was
too cool... everyone was cheering for me. This season will be my
first full season, I started in July of last year racing conference,
Conference is an alternative to SCCA, we use basically the same rules
and classes but less political stuff, just racing. Kind of like the
difference between bmwcca and bmwaca.
Take care, and thanks for your reply.
P.S.We don't have any BMW racing up here in the Northwest.

Mark.
