<E39> (Near-WOB) Cup Holder

We are the proud owners of a new 528iT, and we love it.  But the cupholders
are the wimpiest that I have seen, and I've got to believe that there is a
specific mug designed to work with them.  Our dealer sold us a plastic mug
that seems to clip into the holder, but I doubt that it would stay fixed in
hard cornering or braking.  Is there more to this or is the cup holder just
a lame concession to the marketeers?  Have other E39 owners found a mug to
fit securely?
