Ron,
The original M50 motor was very prone to a slightly "lumpy" idle due to the
aggressive cam timing. The dealers were provided info on adjusting this
out. But it comes at a cost, that being the upper end torque and hp. If you
like the non-idling portion of your motor, leave it alone.
Mine has had this "problem" since I purchased it with 416 miles on it: )
