I'm with you Biba and I don't even know what a Pinto is !

My first car was a '76 Triumph Dolomite Sprint with alloy wheel nuts on
alloy wheels.  After my Dad specifically telling the 'tradesman' at the tyre
place NOT to use an impact wrench, they had to pay up for vaporising 3 wheel
nuts.  At the time they retailed at $47.00 each here in Oz !
The thing that really got me was they didn't stop after the first nut was
destroyed !

It ain't simply the final torque which damages things, but the repeated
pounding which can induce stress cracking and other big engineering words.
Besides, you don't have any 'feel' when using an impact tool.
