I thought it was to do with moisture. Or does it eat seals? If it's high
temp and non-hydroscopic why isn't it used more? It seems to lack all of the
negatives of mineral or synthetic based fluids.
I think the warning about silicone fluid is that, even though silicone
is not hydroscopic, that doesn't mean moisture can't find it's way into
the system. Additionally, since this moisture isn't absorbed like it
would be in DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid, it pools and begins rusting away the
system from the inside out. So you still need to flush the system on a
regular basis.
