1991 starting problem

This happen to my 91 Spider with the automatic transmission while still under
warranty. It was caused by a bad neutral switch on the transmission. The only
way they could fine it was when it wasn't working. I would start the car by
jumping a wire from the battery cable to the starter solenoid and then drive
it to the dealer where it would work ok. The last time they towed it in and
found the problem.

On the automatic transmissions the neutral switch is also the backup light
switch, you will probably fine that the backup light work when the car will
not start.

Subject: 1991 starting problem

I took my 1991 spider auto out this morning. It started right up. Drove
about 4 miles and turned it off to look at some cars in a car lot. Tried to
re start and nothing no starter at all. Because of weekend breakdowns tow
couldn't come for about 4 hours. I would try to start every hour but
nothing. Left car to sit and gave it one last shot and it started right up
as if nothing was ever wrong. I drove home and tried to re start and back
to nothing. Any ideas?
