If you are smelling rotten eggs, it is because your catalytic converter is converting too much sulfur into sulfur dioxide.  This is caused by either a low grade fuel with too high a concentration of sulfur, or by a rich running engine.

I suggest an ignition and fuel injection tune up (spica?) and trying a better source for your gasoline.

It sounds like the converter is installed properly and it is doing it's job.
