Re: Tie rod end scraping against A-arm bracket

I've recently refurbished the front end of my 1991 Spider including
replacing all the tie rod ends. I've just noticed that the inner tie rod on
the left side is rubbing against the rear portion of the lower A-arm
bracket (the portion that bolts to the chassis). Its not so bad that the
steering is impaired, but it's certainly not the way it was designed and it
is noticeable.

It's been a while since I did mine so I can't give you a detailed
description but if you took the whole thing apart and you've done what I
think you may have done you're not gonna like what you hear. Hopefully I'm
wrong and it's something else but it sounds like you got the forward and aft
lower arms swapped. There's a slight difference and it's purpose is to
provide clearance for the tie rod end.
Unfortunately, if that's the case, you'll be taking the whole thing apart
again.
