competition tires: Kumho vs Yoko

I was just looking at Tire Rack's Web site and doing the usual good job of
confusing myself completely in a search for competition tires. The
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup -- which pegs at nearly $200 a tire -- looks
like it gives incredible performance and wear. However, I think my needs
are quite a bit more modest.

I'm thinking of going with my tried-and-true-but-wear-out-fast Yokohama
Advan A032R ($149 a tire -- seems like such a huge waste), but also came
across the Kumho Ecsta V700 at $110 a tire.

Anyone have experience with the Kumhos or with both tires? Can you comment
on their performance on a passenger sedan? I think I'm more concerned with
wear than super-strong adhesion. I'd happily drive my street tires
(because I do like to have a little drift) but they chunk so badly and
give *terrible* braking performance -- I only get one session out of
them (AMHIK).

Any and all creative ideas appreciated. Thanks!
