I have an 83 spider with the 140 MPH speedo.  My mechanic put it in when 
the original failed.  I am fairly certain it was just a drop-in 
replacement.  I am certain there were no transmission changes 
involved.  The bill would have reflected that.  I am not sure the year when 
the 85 MPH speedometer became standard.  I thought it was 83, but 
apparently not.  Someone on the list will know.  You just need one from the 
right year.  If you email me, I will give you my mechanic's name and phone 
number.  He might have one or know where to get one.
