Re: got gas?
Could be your right Charlie but I'm not sure. I never found a really
nice drivers car powered by Gerbils or any of those other alternatives
so I cant say for sure, but for me, a lot of the driving pleasure is
derived from the sound and feel of the motor. This is especially true
with my Alfa. If it wasn't for the motor, hell, I could just as easily
drive a..a..well, a Miata!
I think with alternative fuels I'd miss that gas engine feel and
sound. This really comes out in the motorcycle world where there are
so many choices in engine configuration. I love four strokes, and don't
like two strokes. Twins are nice but I prefer triples, especially
those with 180 degree crankshafts. They all feel different and no
electric motor will ever feel like any internal combustion engine. I
have driven a pure electric vehicle. Scary smooth. Really efficient
and kind of cool. Seriously boring...
