While I accept that in principle there are copyright/IP issues, it seems
like a very dumb way for Alfaromeoinc or whatever to approach the issue.

>One would hope that ARDONA, or ARI, or whatever's left of

>restricted, and revocable license for the use of the
>"A1fa R0me0" logo on the web.

If they are going to be fussy about it, that does seem like the most
reasonable solution. In practice that seems to be what happens with AROC in
most(?) countries. Colin, have you tried asking yet?

>And if not, there's always offshore web hosting...

And what about the situation where the site is hosted in the USA, but the
content is prepared outside the USA... as in the case of my site for
example. Who are they going to threaten with legal action... presumably the
host? Regardless of where it is hosted the webpages are accessible
worldwide: in which "market" are they infringing the copyright? Alfaromeoinc
has got a big job ahead of it if they want to "tidy up" every site on the
web that uses the logo on it...!!!

The timing is interesting though, wonder what they are up to/planning in the
USA.

And wonder who is next?
