Alfa 145 2.0l Q

Hi all,

I've been on this list in the past for a while and got a feeling only
Americans are subscribed to it, I never saw any discoussion about alfas
produced now, only about the old ones. I'm considering a brand new alfa
145Q and would appreciate if anyone could help me.

First, I'd like to know about common problems on this car, engine,
electronic, interior, anything, especially about expensive repairs. I've
serched the web and found nothing. I would also like to find any
additional info about it, data you don't find in a brochure, like what
kind of clutch it uses, how you get a year of production/model year from
the VIN #, so I don't get screwed by the dealer, selling me a '99 car
and such.

Second, I know it's going out of production and would like to know about
any spy pictures of the new model if they're available, what engine will
its succesor had... Correct me if I'm wrong but next year the new model
will be introduced.

And last, not really so important now, are they easy to modify (money/HP
wise)? What's worth replacing, what's already good from the factory.

It's really a shame alfas are not for sale anymore in US, lack of
support from the internet list might be a factor for not buying it. I
mean, I've been on a VW corrado list and on corrado page and there's so
many articles about certain fixes, so you can repair a great deal of
things without any special mechanical knowledge on your own. Too bad I
couldn't find one in good shape. Ok, alfa would be brand new, but it's
alfa so I'm sure it will break :)

TIA and sorry for the long post,

Bostjan
