Tom Sahines pointed out that you also need to make sure the oil pump
shaft isn't binding against the drive gear on the crank. You should
be able to verify having some backlash in the gears by wiggling the
oil pump shaft from above with a screwdriver. If it's tight, loosen
and reposition the pump from below.
