Had the clutch job also done a few years ago. Mine is also a 87 Grand Prix.
He (the GTV6  is male ;-)  is now proud owner of a 164 3.0 clutch.
It was not cheaper but the shop owner promised that the maintenance will be less
in future.
Functionality is the same, performance better than before. Not sure if you can
trust
an old 75 clutch. Better go for a newer 164 clutch.
Sorry, but now knowledge about the mount procedure.
Hope that i helped to speed up process of decision.
