Regarding vendors' participation on the digest, I'm in complete agreement
with Ben Dixon and John Hertzman, who said:
>I think Ben Dixon had it exactly right that "since it is info that has been
>specifically requested, im sure noone would consider it improper if you gave
>us info you have that is relevant. - - People who make their livings selling
>alfa-related products should be able to give info as freely as anyone, so long
>as it has been requested."
>Joel Hailey at Centerline Products, with his extremely discrete sig line,
>participates fully and usefully <snip> Every word he posts is worth reading.
I consider myself a bit of an extremist when it comes to hating unwanted
sales pitches; I don't answer my phone and have a no soliciting sign on my
door. Certainly we can count some of the alfa parts vendors among the best
resources we have, and their participation here is a good relationship for
all concerned. The balance isn't so hard to find - I think Joel does set an
excellent example of both discretion and helpfullness.
Massive sigs: not good. Tiny sigs: they don't have to be *that* small.
