i'd agree with everything but the above.  take a fresh, well maintained
example of a gtv and a milano, and the gtv wins the maintenance battle hands
down.  on the gtv you change fluids and adjust the timing chain every so
often.  on the milano you've got to deal with timing belt/water
pump/tensioner as routine maintenance items.  you've also got the drive
shaft donuts, plus lot's more rubber to wear and get replaced on things
under the car (cv joints, power steering, ...).

the bosch injected v6's are also more difficult to troubleshoot, and more
expensive to fix.  a loose wire in the engine compartment can cause poor
running, or no running at all.

bs, still cursing the wanker who invented the timing belt..
