Guess I need a little more explanation here.
The sensor I tested was a coolant temperature gauge sending
unit. This sensor is used on 75s (Milanos) and GTV6s. I don't
know what other cars it may fit, but apparently not the
Spider or 164.
The sensor screws into the thermostat housing and has two
spade connectors (outputs). The wider connector goes to the
coolant temp gauge and the narrower connector goes to the
high temp warning light.
The sensor that supplies the gauge has these characteristics:
Temperature Resistance Temperature Resistance
Deg F Deg C ohms Deg F Deg C ohms
----- ----- ---- ----- ----- ----
158 70 392 194 90 200
167 75 314 203 95 173
176 80 276 212 100 154
185 85 234 221 105 127
The sensor that supplies the warning light has "infinite"
resistance up to about 105 Deg C and ca. zero resistance
above that temp.
