Stuck clutch

Just wanted to say that I like the methods of Mark Battley in unsticking a
clutch. My kind of mechanic, the bonking bar type. As a kid my father's 36
Dodge clutch would grab and chatter when starting away. The fix was to lean
the front bumper against our duty telephone pole, engage low, gun the
engine (all 65 hp, maybe), and slip the clutch till the smell of hot
asbestos became overpowering, then let it cool. It actually helped a lot,
at least for a couple weeks when the leaking rear seal oiled it up again.
Be careful with Alfas on this to pick the correct part of the bumper to
place against the pole. Bumpers on 36 Dodges were actually made to bump.
