Spica Starting

One of the most common complaints I get about the Spica cars during start
up is that the car fires on three cylinders and take some massaging to get
it to run on all 4 cylinders. This problem is usually solved by changing
the one of the injectors.

The injectors have a metal seat which is closed by a spring. Often this
seat is contaminated and the injector does not seal. This allows a small
amount of fuel to leak into the cylinder after the car has been shut off.
This excess fuel contaminates the spark plug when the car is restarted and
it take a while before the cylinder clears out and the spark plug begins to
fire properly.

To find the correct injector to change start the car and if it is running
on three cylinders immediately shut down and remove the spark plugs.
Looking at the plugs you should be able to determine which plug is wet and
not firing. Replace the injector on that cylinder and you starts will be
much easier.
