Thanks to everyone who provided info on fuel filter and hose
replacement, convertible tops, and window gaskets. Now onto the latest
project.
My valve cover gasket (76 Spider) is leaking from the driver side
front. It leaks into the spark plug area, as well as to t he outside
of the engine. The fiber (?) washer on the front corner has
disintegrated. So anyway, to replace the gasket are there:
A) any special procedures for removing the old gasket and preparing
the valve cover surface for the new one?
B) Special type of Permatex to use. The local store has Permatex Red,
Blue, Copper... and most of the ultraviolet spectrum. Is one ideally
suited for this application?
C) Torque specs for the valve cover bolts/nuts?
TIA.
