Window regulator

Hello Ben,
The window "regulator assembly" dissassembly is a real mess. The motor shaft
is a worm gear that holds the window drive gear in place. When the motor
portion is taken apart, the electrical brushes are spring loaded and go "boing"
to the most inexcessable part of the garage. Once you take it out, you can
slide the window up and down bu hand to see where it binds up in the channel.
Chances are that the brackets for the glass guide rails will need some
adjustment. As for the regulator, you will get an idea of how things come apart
when you slide the motor shaft and gear out. If you remove the thrust nut and
stud from the end of the shaft, mark its position before removing and count the
thread turns out. This adjusts the position of the motor stator on the motor
brushes. I'd make a diagram of how things come apart until you get a parts
book.

Door Switch supply wire should Purple to the switch, Purple/Slate to the Puddle
Light on the driver side. The Purple wire might look a little reddish in some
types of light, and you might mistake slate for dirty white. Take a look at Tim
Buja's great article "Stag Electric-kery at
http://vtr.listquest.com/Stag/Stag-elec.html for a full explanation of a typical
USA A/C Stag color code.

Hazard light looseness sounds like the bakalite plug may have broken, typical,
or the metal inside the bakalite may be expanded.

TTFN,

By the way are you a member of the VTR?
