Gigantic Oil Leak

Hi Ian

As you are sure the oil is coming from the area of the oil pump, my best
guess is that the oil pressure switch has 'blown', this is not uncommon and
it releases oil at a fair rate thorugh the restrictor hole and past the
diaphragm, then out to atmosphere.

Otherwise your problem might be one of the many 'O' rings on the oil pump
housing or the oil transfer housing.

I am assuming you do not have an oil pressure guage with a pipe/hose
conection, nor an oil cooler?
