Re: Unleaded Petrol

Hello Ian
I have been running LD669 Engine No LF591HE on regular unleaded for c10,000
miles now. I do not have unleaded valves, as only five were replaced in my
1991 engine rebuild. The timing is as was set for four star in1991.
The car runs beautifully and my spark plugs are now coming up to 16000 miles
service with no hint of wear, still holding the 25thou gap.
I have Lumenition.
Also my fuel consumption is gradually getting better. I recently fitted a
device to diffuse the spark called a multispark. I haven't noticed any
particular improvement in the fuel consumption which it is supposed to give,
but the plugs may well last 30 or 40 K miles now.
So, as Mystic Meg says, go for it.
Peter H
