Re: Unleaded

Contrary to uninformed speculation, Tuolene is not and has not been part of
petrol specification.

If 'genuine' carburettor diaphragms are used, they will last for many
years. There are however many ersatz imitations about and these last no
time at all.

Super unleaded is being phased out in the UK, in fact most petrol companies
are not now supplying at all. It is however still widely available in
Europe and the oil companies say they have no plans to delete it. This is
despite having a relatively high Benzene content, a substance clearly
linked with Cancer. Thus, this substance should be avoided both for
yourself, and for whoever else breathes your exhaust fumes.

Super unleaded would have given a superior resistance to pre-ignition
(pinking) and so might have helped those who need to retard their ignition
to retain their Stag performance on unleaded.
