Re: Stag Differential

There has been a variety of correspondence recently on the Stag diff, some
of it wide of the mark, IMHO.

There are design similarities between the Stag, TR6 and Innsbruck diffs,
and they can be interchanged with relatively minor external modifications.

The 3.45 ratio was only used in certain Innsbruck automatics with 2.5 litre
engines and auto gearbox.

However, the gears and bearings on the Innsbruck diff are lighter duty and
if you fit these to the Stag, you run the risk of problems arising from the
use of lighter duty components. However, you may feel that this risk is
worthwhile for the lower engine speed per mph, when the BW35 auto is being
used without the overdrive now available from Ian Lines.
