Front Panel

Ladies & Gents

I am currently renovating the front end of my car, specifically the
headlamp panel.
I know that it is summer and I should be using the car but we in the UK
have just had what amounts to the wettest June in recorded history.

Anyway I have stripped it all down, cleaned sidelight indicator housing
which somebody had painted body colour. I take it that they are supposed
to be just bare alloy.

The next question concerns headlamps, I replaced the two normal driving
lamp units, one was broken and the other was rusty. These now look
fantastic but my Main Beam units look dull by comparison. There is no
rust on the units and I have cleaned the inside of the glass with a
toothbrush (the wifes' not mine) but they still look dull is there
anything that can be done with them short of replacement.

How do I keep the pretty Stag badge stuck into it's chrome surround,
what ever glue I seem to use it falls out shortly after. I don't really
want to loose it and I am fed up driving around without it.

Lastly the grill panels are looking sad, I intend to strip all the paint
off and repaint them, should I use gloss?? I know that it sounds daft
but I haven't got any reference points handy. Also DPO looks to have
used 200grade wet and dry to clean paint of the polished sections on the
centre grill, leaving them horribly scratched. Is it gonna be easier to
replace it or should it try polishing them back to life..

Ta for your help in advance

Regards
