Steering Weight

Further to my last e-mail only minutes ago, our TSR steering specialist
says the
Stag and Innsbruck power racks are identical including the rack, control
valve
and torque bar.

Apparently the Stag rack was also built with a pair of spacers included so
that the
wheels/tyres didn't whack the suspension on full lock, but many Stags were
built
without this and probably on reconditioning others, have been lost - there
appears to be no part number for this part! This he says makes the
difference
between 2.5 and 3 turns, lock to lock. Sure enough when I looked at my
Stag,
nice shiny patches on the anti-roll bar from the tyres!

Apparently the control valve looks identical for a whole wide range of cars

using Alford and Alder steering, so it was easy to fit the wrong torque bar
-
there is no external indentification and no new parts!

Mike
