In GA, the only difference between whether a vehicle was previously
registered in the state and if it wasn't is that a non previously registered
vehicle has to get an "inspection."

To give you an idea of what it entails, the patchwork diesel scout passed in
flying colors.  All they do is look at the VIN plate and check it against
what you say the VIN is.

It cost me just around $20 to register the diesel in GA for its first time.
That's also about what it costs to register the '78 scout too...
