If the frame rail serves as the wheel stop as it did on my 800, I don't
think the turning capability of the axle will have any effect on the turn
radius.

Galvanized Bodies:
I talked to Dennis Carr who gets a lot more hands-on with older Scouts
than I do and he says he occasionally has an 800 with galvanized
panels--perhaps not a full galvanized body--in his shop. He also says
he's seen some early Scout II's with galvanized panels. So there may be
some good ones around, but I'm not sure how you would find one other than
spotting a solid one on the road.

It may go back to what I heard was part of the problem leading to such
bad rust problems in '74-75--the specs for the steel were very loose,
allowing purchasing to buy what appeared to be the best buy regardless of
its quality. Perhaps during the 1960's , the buyer knew enough to get
good material, but when inflation started really causing a cost pinch in
the 1970's, a new guy started buying prerusted scrap or something which
still met the specs. Part of the correction for the rust problems was to
specify some corrosion resistance in the steel specs.
