  I think the massive leak in the rear main was more likely caused by the
very high level of fuel/oil mixture.  Between the pan gasket, rear main
seal, and main cap seals, there are plenty of places to have a leak if
if the oil level is up that high (like if you park facing uphill).  In fact
that leak was probably a good thing because it caused you to find
the fuel in the crankcase sooner rather than later.  I had a friend
that found such a leak when he had an explosion in the crankcase.
Believe me, that engine was junk.

Yes change the oil, but above all, find the source of the fuel that
is making its way into the crankcase.  Fuel pump?  Float not
shutting off?  Cracked carb casting?  Internal leak in carb?
