Re: [ihc] Gear oil for Trans and Transfer URGENT

---GL-1 is 90 weight mineral gear oil. It's likeness, 50 weight motor oil.

---I bought a 5 gallon bucket from the local distributor a few months back.
Gold Band industrial GL-1 from Jackson Oil Products, ran me $13.00. BP/Amoco
is the distributor I bought it from.

---FWIW, any distributor should have the books and the books should tell
what gear oil the manufacturer of the axles, transmission, transfer case,
etc., suggests you use. I don't remember the weight, but you would be
surprised to find what gear oil is supposed* to be used in a Dana 44.
