Hmmm..

Do you have two people helping you bleed the system, Micheal?  When 
putting my racer's brakes together, I tried to just pump 'em until I 
could get the air out.. or open the system and pump until no bubbles.. 
well, with the system as dry as it was (empty), that didn't work.  
HOWEVER, get a girlfriend to push on the brake pedal with the bleeder 
valve open, then close it when she lets the pedal up, then open as she 
depresses.. re-fill with fluid, and you're on your way.  You can then go 
back to the normal route of "push pedal, hold, open valve, close valve, 
releae pedal"
