Has the tranny been serviced lately? You may want to have it flushed and try a
synthetic ATF. Going to larger tires and staying with the same gearing will
certainly result in different shift patterns. Depending on how much tread was
worn off of the old tires and if the 31's are brand new, you could be talking
about a sizable change in diameter which would result in significant
engine/tranny performance differences.
