Tom,
   You can't just 're-ring' the engine. If your going to be pulling the
pistons out you might as well replace the connecting rod bearings,
cause; you're in there. 
   Ask Epp about porting, I'm sure that isn't something you want to get
into unless you have a couple of spare weeks.
   Not to discourage you or anything, I'm just pointing out that as
usual everything you get involved in isn't that simple. :-)
