Grant,
The module is certainly the second place to look. It's even, in my
opinion, the most likely cause of your problem, but checking on the
switch circuit doesn't cost you anything  and that's why you should
check it first.

Hmmm, sounds similar to the symptoms that we had when the module went
bad in
my '75 Travelall.  BTW, you can get one for $43 at Pepboys.
