Tom,
   Well, you start off by using Skycrapper u-bolts. Then you put the
point of a rock between the front lip of the spring plate and the front
outer u-bolt end, then you slide off that rock shearing the bolt end
right off at the plate. Darn cheap u-bolts! The easy fix is resessed
u-bolt plates with 5/8" u-bolts.
   We tried to use the HighLift to move the spring, no go! We were using
the HighLift as a spreader and couldn't get the spring to move. The
first solution was to hook up to it with my truck, but with just a
couple of 30' straps we decided we needed some chain. That was when one
of the guys suggested using his winch. Well, we couldn't turn that down!
   Rob runs a 3" body and 4" spring with 33-10.50's and hasn't rubbed
anything yet, and he was really twisted up this weekend. That is the way
to go, and it looks cool.

Geeze, Dan!

You really do need to come to RMIHR and play... gnarlier trails, and less 
damage!  I thought *I* was damage prone.. ;-)

How does one go about BREAKING a U-bolt again?...

For recentering a spring center-bolt and perch.. you don't need a winch.. 
just use your standard issue Hi-Lift Jack.. and maybe a length of chain.. 
works for me every time!

BTW, my 33s *do* rub.. with the sway bar disconnected... up front.  I've 
been running the last week w/ the sway bar off, and it lets the front 
articulate a bunch.. more than a few times I've twisted the Scout up and 
heard the front tires rubbing on the fender lip... MORE LIFT!!  I may 
have a set of 4" Skyjackers for sale by RMIHR...
