Re[2]: Fans at highway speeds...

     Ahhhhh.... Grasshopper, you are ready....

Tom, truthfully, I was waiting to see who was gonna be the first to
point that out. Actually the fan was windmilling but not enough to
pump much coolant. Belts on and as tight as I could make them while
holding the alt with one hand. I'll snug them tonight, but alls well
except for the tardiness to work today. Actually the whole ordeal
took less than an hour. Helps to know where the parts stores are
though! Even though I paid too much for the belts, I only had to
drive about 4 miles from the 'incident' so I was happy to pay a few
     dollars more.

        Keepon Scoutin'

     Joel

Ahh.. you missed one very important item, Joel. You don't need the
*fan* but you *do* need the WATERPUMP to cycle the coolant!

<grin> Hey, Landry's the one changing motors out this weekend.. not
me! I'll probably just clean the shop (it needs it) and get the Scout
more "trip worthy" in preparations for a trip west next month... plus
preparing for a ski trip I have planned for Monday.. so there! I'm
takin' her skiing! :-)
